Description

The UMBC flute studio of Lisa Cella and Lori Kesner presents the Telemann Fantasie Project, a concert featuring the Fantasies for flute by Georg Philipp Telemann, published in 1732–33.

This concert culminates a semester-long focus on Telemann’s solo flute Fantasies. Earlier in the school year, historical flutist Gwynn Robert presented a lecture on the history and significance of these works to the studio and gave a masterclass to the students.

This event is part of the flute studio’s Our Space series, which will focus on pedagogical issues of performance and style and feature young rising stars in the flute world. The next event in the series will take place on Thursday, March 28, and will feature the Angora Ensemble.

Admission is free.
