Description

The Trio des Alpes, an Italian-Swiss ensemble, featuring violinist Hana Kotková, cellist Claude Hauri, and pianist Corrado Greco, returns to UMBC for a evening of chamber music. The trio will also perform on Sunday, May 5 with the UMBC Symphony (more here).

The trio has performed in renowned international concert series such as the Ljubljana Festival, the Alba Music Festival, Nancyphonies (Nancy, France) and throughout Italy. Since 2011 they have been invited to perform in the United States, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Slovenia, Germany, France, Austria and Switzerland. The Trio’s CD 20th-Century Women Composers, featuring works by Beach, Boulanger and Clarke, has received numerous positive reviews.

Their program will feature:
• Dancing Universe (2018) by Linda Dusman (professor of music at UMBC) (U.S. premiere)
• Lied ohne Worte (2005) by Michael Jarrell
• Selections from Eight Pieces for Clarinet, Cello and Piano (1910) by Max Bruch
• Trio on Irish Folk Melodies (1925) by Frank Martin
