Violinist Aisslinn Nosky joins UMBC’s Collegium — directed by Lindsay Johnson, joined by Paula Maust on harpsichord — and its outstanding student performers to explore the rich and diverse repertoire from the Baroque period: Corelli’s Concerto Grosso Op. 6, No. 4, the Vivaldi Concerto for Two Violins in A Minor, Op. 3, No. 8 (RV 522), and selected movements from Telemann’s Burlesque de Quixote Suite.
Hailed as “a fearsomely powerful musician” by The Toronto Star, Canadian-born violinist Aisslinn Nosky is one of the most versatile and dynamic violinists today. She was appointed concertmaster of the Handel and Haydn Society in 2011 and principal guest conductor of the Niagara Symphony Orchestra in 2016. With a reputation for being one of the most dynamic and versatile violinists of her generation, Nosky is in great demand internationally as a soloist, conductor/director and concertmaster.
$15 general admission, $10 seniors, $5 students, free for UMBC music majors and music faculty/staff, available online or at the box office one hour prior to the performance.
