Musical Instrument Sale
Location
Performing Arts & Humanities Building
Date
July 30, 2026 – Aug 1, 2026 (All Day Event)
Description
The Department of Music at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County has had access to the use of new first-class pianos on a no-cost basis for the 2025-2026 academic year. This arrangement is provided through an agreement with the Rockley Family Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting music education. The instruments loaned to UMBC, or otherwise made available will be sold at a significant discount from new retail pricing to perpetuate this valuable program and may provide resources to the music department and scholarship money for the music students.
A large selection of grands, baby grands, digital player grands, vertical (upright) pianos, hybrid pianos, digital pianos, violins, violas, and cellos will be available. This event will feature starter-to professional-level instruments from such famous makers as Yamaha, Bösendorfer, Cristofori, Roland, Italia Violins, and other instrument manufacturers, with a discrete selection of pre-owned Steinway & Sons pianos. Most instruments are less than one-year old, include a 5–10-year service contract, are tuned, and ready to enjoy. Delivery and special no-interest financing is available on-site. Moreover, in most cases, a portion of your purchase may be considered as a charitable contribution to the Rockley Family Foundation and may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.*
BY APPOINTMENT: You are invited to attend a special private-sale on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, July 30-August 1, along with the UMBC faculty and staff. This will give you an opportunity to purchase with priority selection and price reductions. To secure a time, call or text: (443) 961-9150 or click the "Schedule an Appointment" button.
You may also attend the final sale day on Saturday, August 1, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.; no appointment needed.
