Description
The Wine Dark Sea: The New Bartók String Quartet dives into the rich, ambiguous colors of Mozart’s uncharacteristically brooding D minor quartet, and Bartók’s final testament in that medium. The New Bartók Quartet (Wanchi and Airi Yoshioka, violins; James Stern, viola; and Eric Kutz, cello) is comprised of outstanding string faculty from the region, namely UMBC, the University of Maryland, College Park, and James Madison University.
$15 general admission, $10 seniors, $5 students, free for UMBC music majors and music faculty/staff, available online or at the box office one hour prior to the performance.
