Explore a musical adventure that traverses the realms of contemporary and classical compositions with the Inscape Chamber Orchestra, led by their esteemed conductor Richard Scerbo and featuring soprano Mandy Brown.

First, immerse yourself in the ethereal world of Esa-Pekka Salonen’s Fog for 13 instruments, written as a 90th birthday tribute to architect Frank Gehry. The work is a fantasy around the Prelude from J.S. Bach’s Partita in E (BWV 1006), the first piece of music Salonen and Gehry heard in the Walt Disney Concert Hall while it was under construction.

Next, let a captivating soprano and chamber orchestra collaboration unfold in Kaija Saariaho’s mesmerizing Quatre Instants.

Finally, enjoy by the timeless masterpiece of Carl Nielsen’s Symphony No. 6 “Sinfonia semplice.” Transcribed by Hans Abrahamsen for chamber orchestra, this work weaves together intricate musical tapestries, blending moments of grandeur with delicate nuance.

Founded in 2004 by artistic director Richard Scerbo, Inscape Chamber Orchestra is pushing the boundaries of classical music with riveting performances that reach across genres and generations, and transcend the confines of the traditional classical concert experience. With its flexible roster and unique brand of programming, this critically acclaimed, Grammy-nominated group of high energy master musicians has quickly established itself as one of the premier performing ensembles in the Washington, D.C. region and beyond.
