Description

The Department of Music presents an evening of vocal duets, featuring soprano Seyoung Jeong and tenor Seungwon Choi, who will perform art songs, opera arias, and love duets.

Soprano Seyoung Jeong is on the voice faculty of UMBC and Catholic University of America. She has performed the role of Mimi in La Boheme by Puccini with Villa in Canto Opera in Recanati, Italy, Countess Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro by Mozart with New York Lyric Opera and Eastman Opera, and Angelica in Suor Angelica by Puccini with Bel Cantanti Opera, Singer’s Theatre of Washington, and Eastman Opera.

Tenor Seungwon Choi was the first Asian and first handicapped tenor to win the Metropolitan Opera Competition. He has been critically acclaimed as “a tenor with an elegant, golden voice” who possesses “an exceptional acting skill” by The New York Times.
