Ms. Jerzy Gillon

Ms. Jerzy Gillon is a native of Silver Spring, Maryland. She holds a B.M. degree from Bethel University in Saint Paul, Minnesota and a Masters of Music from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

A performer and a teacher, she has received notice for her “soaring melodies” and “tremendous stage presence” (The Cap Times). Her most recent performances include debuting the title role of Bill Banfield’s opera, Edmonia, with the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, organizing and performing music from the Holocaust for the Annual Community Yom HaShoah Program, along with UW colleagues and the Jewish Federation of Madison, the role of Mariola (Jake Heggie’s Two Remain (Out of Darkness)) and Annina (Guiseppe Verdi’s La Traviata) with the UW-Madison Opera, as well as the role of Cinderella (Jules Massenet’s Cendrillon) with the touring company Opera for the Young.

Professor Gillon is an adjunct voice faculty member for UMBC and a faculty member of the New Shiloh Baptist Church: Carter School of Music.
