Musical Prodigies: Why We Love Them, and Why We Should Stop

Audiences are more appreciative of musical prodigies based on their young ages, rather than on their musical complexity and nuance. Gallagher explains the history of the modern idea of the prodigy and concludes that we are over-emphasizing young talent instead of giving prodigies room to come into their own.
