Description
Hear Whistling Hens in concert, including the world premiere of composer Kate Soper’s “Chutes and Ladders,” a commission made possible by the Chamber Music America Classical Commissioning Program, with generous funding provided by the Mellon Foundation. Step into a unique soundscape of vocalizations, quarter tones, multiphones, and speak-singing in this singular piece of Kate Soper’s canon. There will be a Q&A at the end.
Featuring Natalie Groom (Affiliate Artist of Clarinet at UMBC) and soprano Jennifer Piazza-Pick, Whistling Hens was founded to perform and commission music by women composers to create a financially and artistically equitable future for women in music. Learn more at linktr.ee/whistlinghens.
