Master Class with Professor Felipe Garibaldi: If this is your first time attending or performing in a music masterclass, it’s a great opportunity to enhance your performance skills. You will play your selected piece on stage in front of Professor Felipe Garibaldi and the audience. After you play, Professor Garibaldi will provide feedback and guidance to help refine your technique, musicality, and expression. This interactive experience benefits both performers and audience members to gain valuable insights into the piece and the art of guitar playing.
The masterclass is open to all participants to attend. However, only selected players will perform. To apply, please complete this form:
Workshops: For the 12 PM workshops, participants will choose one workshop to attend. The 3:10 PM afternoon workshop is open to all participants simultaneously.
Workshop I: Latin Rhythms and the Classical Guitar
w/ Andrés Palacios
This workshop blends the development of technical precision on the guitar with the expressive pulse of Latin music, helping participants develop rhythmic fluency, articulation, and musicality. Through hands-on practice, you’ll explore essential rhythms and learn how to integrate them into your classical guitar playing. Perfect for musicians looking to deepen their understanding and bring new energy to their technique!
Workshop II: Playing Smarter, Not Harder: Proprioception in Guitar Technique
w/ Dr. Zachary Grim
Many guitarists struggle with technical challenges due to underdeveloped kinesthetic awareness. This workshop explores practical, anatomically informed strategies to improve technique and problem-solving. We’ll cover playing position, left-hand shifts, slurs, dynamics, and more. Through targeted exercises, participants will develop proprioception for greater control and efficiency. Perfect for guitarists of all levels!
