D'Juan Moreland has been selected as a recipient for the second year in a row of the
Black & Latinx Birders Scholarship, a fund dedicated to increase the number of Black birders and Latinx birders studying in the fields of environmental science or the biological sciences.
D’Juan is a Music and Biology double major. For his scholarship application, he submitted a video with a musical score that he composed including samples of bird songs, such as from the local Orchard Oriole.
He also recently completed an internship this summer at Rockefeller University in NYC studying bird neurobiology in the lab of well known black HHMI scholar Dr. Erich Jarvis.
Congrats to D'Juan!
