Description

RUCKUS opens Livewire highlighting innovators of contemporary music, performing works of pivotal women composers Sofia Gubaidulina, Tania León, and Joan Tower in addition to the music of composer-in-residence, Zosha Di Castri. RUCKUS is also thrilled to present a work by ground-breaking composer/improviser/scholar George Lewis, who will be in residence at UMBC in March 2026.

RUCKUS is a contemporary music ensemble in residence at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. With a mission to champion new and innovative works, RUCKUS is dedicated to supporting innovative artists and early-career composers through commissions and collaboration. RUCKUS consists of UMBC faculty Lisa Cella, Airi Yoshioka, Dustin Donahue, Juan Sebastian Delgado, Liana Harron, and Philip Mann, and they are joined by UMBC Affiliate Artist Natalie Groom.

$15 general admission, $10 seniors, $5 students. Tickets will be available in early Fall 2025.
